Begin the Week with Words

"I imagine, then, that we are all candle flames, greasy-bright, fluttering in the darkness and the howl of the wind....They will blow us all out, one by one, until it is only their own light by which they see themselves."

Burial Rites, by Hannah Kent

Who can resist opening lines like these?! Have a good week! And may the right words come to you at the right time :)

    1. Me too - I read soooo many blog posts praising it, I just had to add it to the pile. And then it's being made into a movie, so that moved it up the list!

    1. Yes, this is a good one to read the book first. There are two narrators - first person and a third person narrator - and I'm not sure how they will handle it in a movie script. But the first person narration is beautiful.
