Wow, this is hard as it happens, but amazing to look back upon.
“Your most profound and intimate experiences of worship will likely be in your darkest days – when your heart is broken, when you feel abandoned, when you're out of options, when the pain is great – and you turn to God alone.” ~ Rick Warren
Oh, I see you're reading Crime and Punishment. You'll have to let me know what you think. I haven't read it, but I think I will one day. I read The Brothers Karamazov.
ReplyDeleteYes! So far I really like it. Did you like The Bros K?
DeleteYes, I'm very glad I read it, and most of it I really liked. But there were a few times where it could have put me to sleep.
DeleteI also read it over a period of about 11 months. I don't recommend that, but it was always nice to come back to.
It would be awesome to take a class on it. I did find this lady on Youtube who did some "lectures" or discussions on it but I was never where she was in the story so it was hard to join in with her.
I've found that with many big classics. Like Les Mis, I loved it overall, but there were definitely some snoozing parts!
DeleteSo very true. Great quote!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing it :)
DeleteOh, this quote fits great in the context of Crime and Punishment! I love the book - we studied it at school, and I read it several times since. It's awesome.
ReplyDeleteI'm about 100 pages in, so I'm waiting to see the author's purpose take a more definite shape. Liking it so far!
DeleteWaiting for your review then :)
